The Mountain Gateway leads to the beautiful city of Poteau, Oklahoma nestled at the foot of Cavanal, the “World’s Tallest Hill”. Anchored by the Poteau and Sugar Loaf Mountain ranges this mountainous region boasts an abundance of natural beauty drawing tourists from across the country. Numerous events and festivals such as the Frontier Days Rodeo, Cavanal Killer Annual 5 Mile Walk, Leflore County Fair, and the annual Balloonfest highlight the reward of living in the river valley. But, far surpassing the natural beauty and exciting annual events are the wonderful people who make this community home including many who consider First Christian Church home. FCC celebrates  being part of the greater community and is deeply vested in serving through a number of community focused ministries assisting thousands of people in need each year. The Free Medical Clinic, Backpack Ministry to Children, ongoing support of Grace Cottage and the FCC Childcare Center are just a few ways we are joining God in seeing lives changed for good. Beyond our many collective ministries you will find FCC folks engaged in the greater community volunteering and helping in countless ways.

The First Christian Church Ministry Center is located in the heart of Poteau and easily accessible just ‘off Broadway’! Whether you are visiting the area and absorbing the beauty or simply interested in discovering a fellowship of Christ followers you will have much in common with stop by for a visit and stay for one of our worship gatherings.
